What is Digital Citizenship?
Digital citizenship is an all-encompassing title given to the act of using the computer, the internet and any online activity.
Digital citizens have access to online activity. They can use the activity to purchase items as well as sell items. They will communicate and hopefully use good etiquette during this conversation and commerce. Digital citizens have the responsibility to behave ethically and respect the rights of other users and well as follow laws that have been put in place to protect. They also have the responsibility to be mindful of their own digital security, health and wellness.
If the digital citizen isn’t going to take care of themselves first who will. The digital citizen also has an opportunity to keep up and learn new digital experiences.
The 9 Elements do not stand alone they relate and interconnect to each other. Ribble (2015)
That is a definition and that seems easy to understand. But let's unpack it! -And repack it for students to gain a greater understanding.

Reflection on Learning about Digital Citizenship
The nine elements of digital citizenship have been broken down into themes that can be used to start teaching students the basic ideas (Ribble, 2015). Respect, Educate, and Protect (REPs). Starting the REPs as students start to use electronic devices and continuing through their lives, each digital citizen should understand the basic ideas of digital citizenship.
